  • Beskrivelse: Poor islander Minas Ntompros' son Giorgos is studying law in Athens and fritters away his time and the money his father sends him on the horse races and other forms of entertainment, together with singer Jenny. To get away from a loan-shark who has often lent him money, he leaves for Karystos, on his home island of Euboea, but the loan-shark quickly tracks him down. And so his father gets wind of his son's escapades. He sells his taverna to save his son's skin but turns him out of the house at the same time. Giorgos realizes that he has caused his family a great deal of trouble, including their adopted daughter, Krinio, who loves him dearly. Feeling repentant, he continues his studies and gets his degree. After that, his father forgives him, and Giorgos puts right the damage he has caused. He gets back the tavern and decides to marry sweet Krinio.
